Kekasih adalah sebuah film drama percintaan yg sederhana,baik alur penceritaan serta penggarapannya tapi sangat menyentuh,berangkat dari tema itulah dirancang dimana kehadiran tokoh-tokoh dalam cerita ini yang sangat membumi. Lokasi yang sebagian besar di daerah yogyakarta dan sekitarnya,membuat suasana yang berbeda dengan lanscape yg indah. cerita ini dimulai dengan jiwo (angga dwisaputra)bertemu dengan maria (vonny kristianda) bertemu saat mereka SMP karena sebuah kecelakaan kecil dimana jiwo kehilangan merpati kesayangannya yang bernama bintang, karena merpati itulah mereka bertemu dan seperti sepasang merpati yang tak pernah berpisah,hingga suatu saat ada suatu kejadian dimana jiwo harus berpisah dengan maris,hingga mereka bertemu 8 tahun kemudian, cinta mereka yang dianggap cinta monyet pada awalnya berubah menjadi sebuah pencarian cinta sejati,perbedaan status sosial dan sebuah rahasia besar antara orang tua mereka menjadi hambatan dalam hubungan mereka. cinta mereka adalah sebuah janji cinta maria dan jiwo menjadi sebuah deklare bahwa sepasang kekasih,bahwa mereka sudah ditakdirkan berjodoh hingga akhir hayat. saat terjadi kecelakaan sepeda motor,maria harus dirawat karena koma dan terjadi pendarahan yang terus menerus,dan diagnosa mengindap kanker hati, jiwo membuktikan cintanya dengan menyerahkan hatinya untuk maria,bagaimana dengan ibu jiwo (karlina erawaty) yang menjanda,kakek maria (piet jaya burnama) yg menyayangin maria,orang tua maria dimana danurdono (donny damara) dan lestari (fara diana) yang selalu bertentangan soal hubungan maria dan jiwo,pak jono (krisno bossa) sopir dan juga sahabat dekat keluarga yang ikut andil dalam hubungan jiwo dan maria. suasana bertambah rumit lagi saat pihak keluarga maria bersiap juga menjadi donor hati bagi maria. bagaimana dengan jiwo? sebuah cerita cinta bukan hanya anak muda tapi juga antara ibu dan anak,keluarga juga persahabatan.
